Ashley D. Chappell,

currently holds the position of director of the Poteet High School choral department. Formally she has taught in the Plano ISD and Argyle ISD and recently completed her MME summa cum laude at the University of North Texas.She has experience teaching and performing in both the percussive and vocal fields.Choirs under her direction have received sweepstakes at UIL and “Best in Class” awards at other music festivals. Also, Ms. Chappell is a former private percussion instructor for the the Mesquite ISD. As a professional percussionist she has played for the Dallas Bach Society, the Turtle Creek Chorale, the Women’s Chorus of Dallas, and many others. She is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, and the music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda. As a clinician she has conducted clinics at the University of North Texas and at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio in February 2006.

Nancy Shotts
currently holds the position of assistant choral director at both Poteet HS and Kimbrough MS. A graduate of the University of North Texas, she is both an accomplished and gifted pianist. She has had the distinction of working with numerous choral and band groups in the north Texas area for the past 20 years. Besides her duties as choral director, Mrs. Shotts maintains a private piano studio She has been married to her husband Dan for 26 years and is the mother of three children Nathan, Jonathan, and Amanda. In her spare time she enjoys running, biking and swimming. She has recently completed her 3rd triathlon in the summer of 2006.
